Outcome[edit]
- New Creation: What was one useful outcome that was created at the event for the Wikimedia movement?
- Me and Ravid ziv started a collaboration with en:User:Jmh649 for writing a bot for copyright violation detection. James got support from external service and from English Wikipedia editors for a project (see en::Wikipedia:Turnitin), and we implemented a bot using pywikibot with help of valhallasw. The bot is operating in English Wikipedia in pilot mode (see report page in en:Wikipedia:MED/Copyright).
- We wrote a nice tool (user script) for warning editors who use the VisualEditor regarding style issues according to en:Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style. The scripts support localization and is working in English, Hebrew and Chinese (thanks for en:User:Gabrielchihonglee!).
Connections[edit]
I met en:User:Jmh649 from enwiki and we started the above collaboration which is cool and may be prove useful in many other wikiprojects in enwiki, and in other projects outside English Wikipedia.
I also met other developers (of pywikibot and VisualEditor) and it was nice to have a talk with them and I learn new things.
