Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?

Add a link here to a blog post or newsletter you wrote about your participation afterwards, or to a meet-up you organized to share your experience with your local community.

I plan to organise a Wikidata workshop in my city, Lima, Peru, this year. I've already talked with people around me about my experience.

I am also preparing a Wikidata-related activity for 11-years-old schoolgirls to be delivered at the school I work in.

Option 2: Learning Pattern: What is one useful learning pattern you can share with the Wikimedia movement?

Add a link to a learning pattern - either a new pattern you created with insights from your participation, or an existing pattern to which you added your endorsement and some significant new "considerations" or “examples” from your experience.

Option 3: New Creation: What was one useful outcome that was created at the event for the Wikimedia movement?

Add a link to something new that was created as a result of your participation in this event (for example, you might link to a new tool that you and your co-participants worked on at the Hackathon, or to pages created in a workshop you participated in).

I attended the Wikimedia & Education event, and came up with ideas on how to integrate Wikimedia projects in the classroom, and to keep students motivated, special young ones (see above).

After attending a workshop on lexicographical data in Wikidata, I created lexemes forms (d:User:Lucas Werkmeister/Wikidata Lexeme Forms/Spanish) to facilitate the creation of lexemes in Spanish, and fixed a lot of items that could be used as statements on lexemes.

Connections

I met a lot of new people, and also encountered people I had previously met in other events. During Wikimania, I was able to introduce new users into Wikidata, and help some other users to find solutions to problems. I also attented some meetups (Wikidata, Education).

1. User:Yasield: User from Ivory Coast. She was interested in Wikidata, so I showed her how to edit in there.
2. User:Modjou: User from Ivory Coast. I helped her communicate in English with other users. Together with Yasield, she told me about her experience with education programmes, and the challenges they have had to face. Put both of them in contact with Amir Aharoni for information about small-language projects.
3. User:Sjoerddebruin: We shared a couple of shifts attending the Wikidata community booth, which gave us the opportunity to discuss some issues.

6. Andra Waagmeester: Discussed about the project he works in (Gene Wiki), and the challenges he has had in Wikidata.
7. Amir Aharoni: Talked about small-language projects, and made me reflect on what the possibilities are for such languages in my own country.
8. User:Saintfevrier: Told me about her experiences with educational programmes, and how to engage students.

This was my first Wikimania, so it was a great opportunity to interact with users from all over the world, and hear from different experiences.

I noticed two main problems when trying to integrate Global South representatives. First, the lack of laptops for them to use. And second, the language barrier: not everybody has a level of English to network or deliver a talk. A solution to the first problem could be to have spare laptops during the event in case anybody needs to use one for a workshop or so. As for the second one, there could be a volunteering program for interpreters.
