Welcome back from Wikimania 2016!

Participant[edit]

Ciell from the Dutch Wikipedia.

Outcome[edit]

Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?

At Sunday, I attended a meetup for the LGBT+ users at the school. We have a writing week on LGBT+ coming up with two partners, but had no idea yet how we should communicate this with the English users that are coming to the Netherlands and we want to involve during the Europride parade. We got help offered and got new ideas talking about it.

Connections[edit]

Blue Raspberry was a lot of help on how to approach the English users and subscribed us to the LGBT+ mailing list for the above mentioned writing weeks.

During Wikimania, I talked to several people about new ideas we have in the Netherlands for transforming WLM into a second contest, and talked to different people about our upcoming Dutch Conference in which we'd like to have an English track.
Over some nice Italian pizza, I was able to help make a connection with a newbie Wikipedian, who didn't know where to begin with editing Wikipedia. I introduced him to people from his own country, that could help him get started.
