Event name[edit]

Museum Computer Network 2014 annual conference

Participant connections[edit]

I gave two presentations—one on Wikipedia editathons and one on the U.S. National Archives' API. These were each attended by about 50–70 people.

Outcome[edit]

Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?
My talk generated a lot of tweets and engagement on Twitter (Twitter search for "#mcn2014" and "Wikipedia"). Many of these tweets have multiple retweets (including by a recent president of the Society of American Archivists) and were spread widely to the GLAM community outside of the conference. I published my slides for my editathon talk on Slideshare, and they have 465 views so far. Several attendees found me after the talk to discuss editathons further, or said they would share my slides with their boss/department, or sent follow-up emails to me.

Finances[edit]

Expense $USD
Requested Final
Travel $312.20 $312.20
Accommodation $543.38 $544.61
Registration $140.00 $140.00
Per diem $319.50 $319.50
Total $1315.08      $1316.31

The final budget came to $1316.31, a slight discrepancy of $1.23 over the original request of $1315.08. This was due to the rounding in how the hotel split the bill. I have emailed receipts for each of the major expenses.

Amount left over[edit]
