I gave a speech at the panel on the minority languages of Russia, which was attended by approximately 30 people, and which has 200 views on YouTube.
From my friends at Erzya Wikipedia, I have learned their experience of User Group registration and would like to adapt it for Buryat Wikipedia. Meeting Bashkir wiki-babushkas (User:Аҡҡашҡа, User:Гүзәл Ситдиҡова, User:З. ӘЙЛЕ and many others) was a very special experience. They have taught me a valuable lesson about senior citizen community engagement that I want to adapt in the future as well.
I have requested help from User:Putnik to solve a long-term issue with Wikidata integration on bxr.wikipedia. As soon as the new infobox template will be developed for Russian Wikipedia, we can start working on exporting it to Buryat Wikipedia.
Several wikimedians from other minority languages that were not able to attend, such as User:HalanTul have expressed to me that they have found my speech useful as well.\
- New Creation: What was one useful outcome of the event for the Wikimedia movement?
- There was an active discussion on the problems that I have outlined in my presentation, many of the wikimedians present also voiced their concerns, opinions and suggestions. Together with friends at Tyvan and Bashkir Wikipedia, we decided that it is important to host outreach events with people having professional knowledge of our respective languages in order to create more reliable sources. The feedback was very positive, and I would like to keep it in the future.
Friends from sister projects have inspired me to start work on Wiktionary and Wikinews.
I have also submitted an article to the local Buryat newspaper that is due for publication. I will provide a link as soon as it is available.
