Option 1: Shared Experience: What is one way you shared something from your experience with your community (either locally or globally), after the event?

Wikimania 2016 in pt-wiki

This was my first Wikimania, I really enjoyed to find several people from different parts of the world. I really enjoyed the learning I received lectures and future projects.

I will want to highlight a few lectures I saw and liked were: Workshop: Engaging local Wikipedians, that helped me to how to engage new Wikipedians in my Wikipedia in University that I'm a ambassador, which is not an easy task and has many barriers to overcome. I liked so much Detecting Copyright Concerns in Near Real Time is very useful for me, bacause I use Huggle and I'm a licence reviewer on Wikimedia Commons, and this help me so much. And I'm learning Python and others program, that I can help in it development. And I hope this tool used in Portuguese Wikipédia. I like to learn use Learn to use Pywikibot, in Pywikibot for Wikidata and other projects and I think this bot is useful in my home wiki.

But the discussion that interests me and that intrigued me know more answers is Going mobile and keeping editing: needs and challenges to edit Wikipedia from mobile devices, I found it very intrigrante, and in my opinion the best way to work around this limitation is to create a unique app for editing in Wikimedia projects, and the creation of an app for each project, as Commons, wikidata, Wikipedia, etc.

I participated also Inkscape training, given by Shyamal and Dynamic SVG for Wikimedia projects: Exploring applications, techniques and best practice for interactive and animated vector graphics. I found it very useful, because I work a lot with the Inkcape and the Gimp.

Connections[edit]

Wikimania was a wonderful place to meet people interested and committed to the free knowledge projects. This year I managed to get a lot of information and opportunities to expand my knowledge and my engagement with the Wikimedia project. It is mandatory to highlight the meetings with Asaf and Zack McCune, Shevaun Mizrahi and presidents users of local chapters and representative of users groups in at least 30 countries. Finally, given the Brazilian Wikimania is always a good opportunity to have constructive conversations.

I would like first to thank Asaf_(WMF), for giving this scholarship. It was a unique opportunity to have known people with my engagement I, which is to spread quality and free education movement for all human beings of all people from all over the world. I want to thank the organizers of Wikimania, which was a spectacular event in every respect. See below my two pictures with Zac and Jimmy Wales.
