  • The project will begin with a comprehensive needs assessment to identify the existing challenges and opportunities for Wikimedian editors in Kano State. Based on the assessment, a tailored training curriculum will be developed to address the specific needs of the editors, covering topics such as content creation, editing skills, sourcing and citation guidelines, and community engagement.

It's two days events, day one for training and day two for Edit-a-thon.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

We will let our participants to know about this training and edit-a-thon via WhatsApp chat, mailing, SMS and other social media channels.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse your proposal as proof of availability)

Yes, our participants have a needed equipment and skills which will help them to participate and contribute a high quality content.

The WhatsApp group will be created for the participants' engagement after the events

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Yes, I applied this project last month but due to monthly funding restrictions and the limit of not funding more than one application per state in a grant cycle, it was not funded and you asked me to submit another application in this month.

Secondly,the proposed project aims to provide comprehensive support and guidance to Wikimedian editors in Kano State. The project recognizes the importance of fostering a vibrant and diverse community of editors to enhance the quality and quantity of knowledge on Wikimedia projects. Through a series of targeted activities, the project aims to empower editors by providing them with the necessary skills, resources, and mentorship to contribute effectively to the Wikimedia projects.

I A Sulaiman Z will organize the project with help of Gwanki, and Gwanki is an experienced Sysop Editor at Hausa Wikipedia, will play a role during the events for both training and edit-a-thon sessions.

  2. Food and refreshments for participants and facilitators:₦1,500×22=₦33,000×2=₦66,000.
  3. Events'banner:₦15,000.
  4. Projector and microphone:₦15,000.
  5. Branded T-shirts for organizer and facilitator:₦5,000×2=₦10,000.
  6. Data expenses for participants and facilitators:₦1,000×22=₦22,000.
  7. Contingency:₦15,000.

Total amount ₦204,000.
