  • Initial training sessions to introduce Wikipedia and editing skills.
  • Follow-up editathons to focus on specific topics or themes, such as Zamfara State's history, culture, or notable figures.
  • Advanced training sessions to cover specialized topics, like article writing, referencing, or media upload.
  • Regular meetups and online support to ensure participants' continued progress and engagement.

This structured approach aims to create a lasting impact, empowering participants to become active Wikipedia contributors and fostering a sustainable community.

For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

To ensure participants have the necessary equipment and skills, I would:
  • Provide training sessions on Wikipedia editing, photography, and uploading images to Wikimedia Commons.
  • Offer equipment loaner programs or rentals for cameras and laptops, if needed.
  • Partner with local organizations to access computer labs or equipment.
  • Encourage participants to bring their own devices (BYOD) if possible.
  • Provide resources and guidance on how to access public domain or Creative Commons-licensed images.
  • Offer one-on-one support and mentoring during the edit-a-thon.
  • Create a guide with tips and best practices for taking high-quality photos and writing engaging articles.

By providing training, equipment access, and support, we can empower participants to contribute high-quality content to Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons.

To engage participants after the event(s), I would:
