  • This project seeks funding to conduct a Wiktionary Workshop in Igabi Local Government, with the aim of enhancing skills, promoting content creation, and fostering community engagement among local Wikimedia editors.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

One day for training and one day for Edit-a-thon.(online and physical events)

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I will let the participants to know about the workshop through social media channels, phone call, SMS, email and other communication process.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse your proposal as proof of availability)

Yes, the participants have their equipment and skills which will help them to participate and contribute a high quality content.

the participants will be engaged after the event by creating a WhatsApp group for responding to their questions about hidden issues.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Yes, the project holds significant potential for empowering the community, preserving linguistic heritage, and fostering a sense of pride and ownership among its members. We are excited about the possibilities this project offers and look forward to collaborating with the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria to make it a reality.

How do you plan to track your project metrics?

I will use WMF outreach dashboard to track my project metrics.

I Aisha Yahuza will lead the project with help of A Sulaiman Z as a facilitator.

What resources do you need? For your funding request, list bullet points for each expense and include a total amount.

  1. Event's hall= ₦30,000.
  2. Food and refreshments for participants= ₦1,500×20=₦30,000.
  3. Event's banner= ₦10,000.
  4. Branded T-shirts for organizer and facilitator= ₦5,000×2=₦10,000.
  5. Data support for the participants=₦1,000×20=₦20,000×2=N40,000 (physical and online events).
  6. Transport and accomodation for one facilitator= ₦20,000.

Contingency= ₦10,000. Total amount ₦150,000
