  • This project aims to drive transformative change by amplifying Nigeria women's voices and achievements across diverse fields on Wikiquote. We are dedicated to bridging the gender gap by ensuring Nigeria women's unique quotes, insights, and accomplishments are adequately represented and celebrated.
The main challenges we address center on the underrepresentation and limited visibility of Nigerian women's voices and contributions on Wikiquote, reflecting broader issues of gender bias. Our goal is rectify these challenges and create a more inclusive and balanced representation.
Through this project we aim to train local women from our community ,students, existing Nigeria wikimedian editors and anyone passionate about bridging the gender gap on Wikiquote , to acquire the best and high quality wikiquote editing skills to bridge the gap about Nigeria Women voices and quotes on Wikiquote.

One Virtual Training and Edit a thon as well as an Online contest

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages. You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

The target participants are local women from our community ,students, existing Nigeria wikimedian editors and anyone passionate about bridging the gender gap on Wikiquote. We will communicate the edit-a-thon to participants primarily through email and WhatsApp. We will send out personalized email invitations to potential participants, providing them with detailed information about the event and how to join. In parallel, we will create dedicated WhatsApp groups where participants can receive updates, ask questions, and engage with fellow participants and organizers. This focused approach aims to effectively reach and engage participants through direct and interactive communication channels.

Following the conclusion of the event(s), participants will be integrated into a dedicated WhatsApp group, facilitating sustained engagement, fostering discussions, and encouraging the provision of valuable feedback.

This project's strong commitment to promoting gender equality, women's empowerment, and community engagement in the region. This event represents a pivotal opportunity to catalyze positive change and foster inclusive dialogue within the local community. Furthermore, this project aligns with goals and objectives of the SheSaid global campaign

by providing an equitable space for women voices that goes unheard.

Alexander achie004(Project Lead):I am a vast wikipedia, Wikiquote editor and trainer, with a quality edit count on Wikiquote. I will be providing my expertise in training the participants to ensure the goals of this event are achieved beyond our target
