As a student at Aminu Kano College of Education, I want to start a project to teach my fellow students about Wikipedia. The main aim is to make them more aware of Wikipedia and its different projects.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

It's a Two days of physical training and one day of follow up online training

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I will let them know Via Hausa Community and Wikimedians of Funtua Whatsapp groups

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

Participants will mainly receive information through phone calls and in-person conversations, while some will also be informed via WhatsApp and through announcements in class.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse your proposal as proof of availability)

The participants have Smartphones

I will engage them via Funtua Wikimedia Community WhatsApp group and I will also create WhatsApp group for the project

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

I have applied in the previous cycle, but due to the limitations of monthly funds, it was not funded and I was advised to re submit it in this cycle

  2. Event banner and Flyers= N20,000.
  3. Data support for participants =N500×20=15,000
  4. Transportation for one facilitator = 10,000
  5. T-shirt 5,00×2=N10,000
  6. Contingency N20,000
  • Total amount=N205,000.
