  • The workshop aims to build the capacity of participants in editing and maintaining the Bauchi State Wiktionary, foster community engagement, expand content in local languages, raise awareness about the Wiktionary project, and establish sustainable support mechanisms. The proposal requests funding for venue rental, equipment, training materials, travel expenses, and logistical arrangements. The workshop aims to empower the Bauchi State Wiktionary community and contribute to the broader Wikimedia movement.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

The relevant Wikimedia will be announced via Hausa Wikimedians User Group (WhatsApp group chat and discussion page).

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I will let them know by phone call, SMS, sending an email and other social media channels.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse your proposal as proof of availability)

Yes, they have equipment and skills needed to participate and contribute a high quality content.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

The participants will be engaged after the events by creating a WhatsApp group for solution the hidden issues for them.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Yes I have, this workshop's primary objectives include training participants in Wiktionary editing techniques and expanding the Bauchi State-specific lexicon. By equipping linguists, educators, students, and community members with the necessary skills, we aim to encourage active participation in the Wikimedia movement.

I will use WMF outreach dashboard to track the metrics.

What resources do you have? Include information on who is organizing the project, what they will do, and if you will receive support from anywhere else (in-kind donations or additional funding).

  1. IBaban Sadiq 2 am the project organizer, I will lead the project with help of these facilitators.
  2. A Sulaiman Z, is an experienced Wikimedian editor he has organized many Wikimedian Projects in Northern Nigeria. He's a member at Hausa Wikimedia User Group Nigeria and also member at Wikimedians User Group Nigeria.
  3. M Bash Ne,is also an experienced Wikimedian editor, more especially on Hausa Wikipedia and other Wikipedia sisters projects, he facilitated several projects before and he is a member at the Hausa Wikimedians User Group and Wikimedia User Group Nigeria.

  1. Transport for three facilitators (Kano-Bauchi) - ₦20,000.
  2. Accomodations and refreshments for facilitators during two days - ₦20,000.
  3. Event's Hall for workshop - ₦40,000.
  4. Food and refreshments for facilitators and participants ₦1,500×23=₦34,500.
  5. Data support for facilitators and participants: ₦1,000×23=₦23,000.
  6. Event's banner:₦15,000.
  7. Branded T-shirts for facilitators:₦5,000×3=₦15,000.
  8. Generator, fuel, projector and Microphone - ₦20,000.
  9. Contingency:₦10,000.
