Project summary[edit]

Briefly summarize your project proposal.

  • I am a lecturer in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, hence I want to train my students on how they can be contributing to the Wikimedia projects. Having joined many trainings and projects I have gained knowledge on how to create items on wikidata, how to translate properties to local languages and I picked this as a gap I would like to fill. This project will focus on creating wikidata items in the local languages especially on Towns in South East part on Nigeria. There are gaps when it comes to documentation of towns, cities and villages on wikidata.By these there would be more articles created and improved on the Wikimedia platform. Also it will help teach them how they can leverage on the free knowledge which Wikimedia offers to do their research and projects.
