Wikimedia Project[edit]

Please state the Wikimedia project your project will focus majorly on (e.g. English Wikipedia, Wikidata, etc). It is advisable to focus on one Wikimedia project, but a maximum of two projects is allowed.

  • This programme tagged "Exploring Arts" is another milestone in the history of KWASU Wikimedia Fan Club. It's is aimed at filming oral literature in Kwara State.

Project Goal[edit]

  1. recruit new editors
  2. Add or improve content
  3. To film the beauty aesthetic values of the Ilorin arts
  4. To have a broad knowledge of the various oral literature in Ilorin.

We are at least one edit a thon

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

We will make use of relevant Social Media platforms of the 21st century (Facebook, and Twitter). We will also communicate with the participants through a fan clubs' WhatsApp group and the club executives will visit various departments within the school to inform them.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes, they have their mobile phones and we'll hire the service of a photographer.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

The WhatsApp group will be for follow-up to further engage them. The group will provide them with tips on using citation hunts tool, adding verifiable and reliable references to articles on Wikipedia and also to answer them if there is any clarification they need.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

It will be inspiring and educative and we believe it will be an avenue for us to add more knowledge of what we learnt to the Wiki Community.

She is the staff adviser for the The Wikimedia Fan Club Kwara State University, She was Part of the Participants chosen to organize the Wiki in Schools Campaign in Nigeria
