Feminism and folklore in kwara is aimed at bridgining content gap on wikipedia and wikidata. This is to improve the contribution of participants on article related to women and folklore in ilorin.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

Training: The feminism and folklore ilorin campaign aims at training new and existing contribution on how to create and improve a standard article on english and how to create wikidata item. we will be having a day training for the community and also involve them in a writing edit a thon to increase their participation and contribution on both wikipedia and wikidata

Edit-a-thon contest:After the physical training,there will be an edit a thon writing contest that will enable the community to contribute to both wikipedia and wikidata. This is aimed at allowing them get familiar with contributing as volunteers. After which prizes will be given to top contributors

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

we have informed the wikimedia user group Nigeria about our proposal via the meta page. 3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

we will inform the community about this event through our social media handles and platform to create awareness about the training and the edit a thon.

This awareness is not just for our community alone but also those that what to join the community.

we will be using our whatsApp platform to constantly communicate with them and continually remind them about the campaign/physial training.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Our participants have internet connectable devices like smartphones, laptops, tablets. this devices will help them to actively participate in both the trainings and the edit a thon contest.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

We hope to engage the participants after the events through our WhatsApp community group chat. There will get to connect with them by organise mid virtual trainings for them to know if they need the help of the community on how to navigate contributing beyond the campaign and edit a thon

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Feminism and folklore ilorin is a campaigned to bridge article gap on women and folklore in ilorin kwara on both wikipedia and wikidata. There are articles about women and folklore that are not properly edited and created. this campaign focuses on improving wikimedia article on folklore.

This event is organized by the unilorin fan club and we have executives that will be performing special roles

  • Refreshment physical training (2500*40) : NGN 100,000
  • T shirt for team members: (7000*3): NGN 21,000
  • Airtime for Communication(5,000*3 = 15000) + Transportation(5,000*3 = 15,000) +data for the two team members members(5,000*2 = 10,000): NGN 40,000
  • Camera rental and photography : NGN 25,000
  • Appreciating prizes for any five highest editor for the training(gift items(10,000*5) : NGN 50,000
  • Contigencies , Miscellaneous and Logistics: NGN 30,000

Total = NGN 266,000
