  • This project (HausaWiki Pan-African Leaders Writing Contest) aimed at creating articles about Pan-African Leaders and Revolutionaries, who do not currently have representation on Hausa Wikipedia. We believe that this project aligns with our shared commitment to knowledge dissemination, public engagement, and the promotion of notable figures from diverse backgrounds. However, we will engage editors from Hausa community to contribute their knowledge and expertise in creating or translate articles about Pan-African Leaders and Revolutionaries who are currently absent from Hausa Wikipedia.

This project will focus on identifying and documenting the accomplishments, contributions, and stories of Pan-African Leaders and Revolutionaries who have made significant impacts in various fields especially in Africa and the world at large but they have not been recognized on the Hausa Wikipedia.

  1. recruit new editors:On the this project, we will source new members.
  2. Add or improve content:In this project, We will create new contents.
  3. Follow up to inactive editors.
  4. Translate or create articles about Pan-African Leaders from English Wikipedia into Hausa, good and quality ones that everyone can read and understand.
  5. Enhance/arrange the use of Hausa Wikipedia as a reliable source of information related to Pan-African Leaders by creating articles about them

Activities We will conduct 3 online trainings and 3 weeks article writing contest.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?

We have our social media platforms where we follow community members up.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This project will help increase the contribution of Hausa community members. Then it will help Hausa Wikipedians editors to know who are the Pan-African Leaders and Revolutionaries and the role they played and it will help the Hausa Wikipedia Community by getting many articles about Pan-African Leaders.
