  • Project topic - Introduction wiki commons /wiki love Africa Yola 2024.

Aim Of Project: introducing members to wiki commons and also introducing what wiki love Africa is all about through a physical meetup and a workshop.

Will love Africa and wikimedia user group Nigeria has raised many editors both in Nigeria and Africa at large, in pursuit of this goal we want to extend that to our environment here in adamawa state Yola, as integral part of this initiative, " wiki love Africa 2024" with topic: Africa Create will be introduced.

In our global world today, many citizen are not aware of world recent developments, this makes it very important to bring this project to this part of Africa, to make the project more convincing for us to achieve we have set up few experienced wikimedia from around the visinity to serve as facilitator for this event

Timeline of activities[edit]

  • - A dedicated event page will be created
  • - active promotion of the project will be carried out across various social media channels.
  • - The event will begin with a detailed introduction of the project , the goals and what the project tends to achieve an the end.
  • - Every Participants will introduce themselves to help us enhance our relationship with each other from there.
  • - they will be a break out section and time to refresh ourselves.
  • - Participants will be properly thought on what wikidata and wiki commons/ wiki love Africa is a about using a practical demonstration on a projector.
  • - Participants will will be assigned to do what they have learnt.
  • - At the end questions and answers time will be provided for the participants.
  • - Face-to-face meetings will be held with students leaders of the institution

You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using. i met with the gombe wikimedia user group to know more how this project and how it can be carried out effectively 3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings. i will let participants know throughb our social media platforms like Whatsapp,but majorly I will do a flyer to create an awareness , and also meet with the students authority to make the publicity faster.

  • I believe this project will bring more editors to wikimedia and wiki love Africa and will help to introduce to people what Wikimedia is all about and how they can contribute to it
