  • The project aims to raise awareness about Wikipedia within Ohafia Local Government Area in Abia State, Nigeria. It seeks to educate the local community, including students, educators, and residents, about the importance of Wikipedia as a valuable source of knowledge. The project will involve organizing training workshops and seminars to promote Wikipedia usage, editing, and contribution. By enhancing Wikipedia awareness and engagement, the project intends to empower individuals in Ohafia to access, contribute to, and benefit from this global platform for knowledge sharing and learning.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. 3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

Participants will be notified through e-fliers, emails, social media campaigns, and collaborations. A dedicated WhatsApp group will offer real-time updates and discussions. Regular email, social media, and forum updates will keep participants informed and updated in regards of the event.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

Following the event, participants will join the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria, facilitating ongoing collaboration and support. Additionally, they will become members of our dedicated WhatsApp group for immediate updates, assistance, and interactive discussions.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This project seeks to educate the Ohafia community about Wikipedia's importance by conducting training workshops,seminars,edit a thons. It aims to make Wikipedia more relevant to Ohafia by highlighting local content and culture, fostering collaborations with local institutions, promoting digital literacy, and ensuring long-term sustainability through community engagement and feedback mechanisms. The project will measure its impact by tracking Wikipedia edits, articles related to Ohafia, and the number of participants reached while celebrating achievements along the way.

User:Peterebube1977(Project Lead): I am an experienced wikipedia editor ,with a wealth of experience as a seasoned Wikipedia editor ,trainer and a proven track record of facilitating successful Wikipedia and Wikidata projects, as well as participating in and winning multiple Wikipedia projects and edit-a-thons. My extensive knowledge and experience make me well-equipped to spearhead the project ensuring successs.
Evaristus07(Co-Facilitator): He is an accomplished trainer and editor with a strong background in organizing and participating in various training workshops. With this wealth of experience, He will play a pivotal role as a co-facilitator in this project, offering expert guidance and contributing to the success of the event through his training and editing skills.
