  • The primary goal of this proposal is to raise awareness about the Bole Wikipedia, which is currently under testing in the Wikimedia incubator, within the Fika community. This campaign aims to educate and engage community members, encouraging their active participation and contributions to the Bole Wikipedia project. 1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

One physical training and one day campaign

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

We will inform people through Whatsapp groups and and post on other social media platforms

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

Via WhatsApp and sending SMS as well as posting on facebook platform

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse your proposal as proof of availability)

Bole Wikipedia is a valuable initiative within the Wikimedia movement, focusing on preserving and sharing knowledge in the Bole language. Currently undergoing testing in the Wikimedia incubator, this project is in need of community support to thrive. Fika community members, being integral stakeholders, should be informed about the Bole Wikipedia and motivated to contribute.
