The Visual Documentation Wikimedia Project in Nnewi is a localized initiative aimed at enhancing the representation of information on Wikimedia projects through the integration of visual content specific to Nnewi Anambra State.Nnewi is one of the local government in Anambra State .The Nnewi people believe that the dead should be mourned and this gave opportunity of funeral rites giving. This project recognizes the unique cultural and linguistic context of Nnewi and seeks to capture some cultural practices especially funerals in Nnewi. . It aim to preserve the culture using Wikimedia projects such as Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?

Yes they have gadgets and some lack basic knowledge of uploading photos. We will teach them the basics of uploading and creating items on Wikidata.

we will follow them up in the community channel .

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This project will help in the

documentation of Nnewi diverse cultural heritage.
