Project summary[edit]

Briefly summarize your project proposal.

  • Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos(WPWP) is a campaign that creates an avenue for Wikipedia editors, photographers and Wikimedia language projects and communities across the globe to enhance the Wikimedia projects by adding photos to the Wikipedia articles that lack any, so as to captivate the readers' attention towards the articles. Photos play a very crucial role in whetting the readers' appetite towards the content of a particular article.Hence, there is the need to gap the discrepancies of inadequate pictorial description and refrencing. To these ends, the Wikipedia Pages Wanting Photos Campaign(WPWP) is designed by Wikimedia to upskill her editors on how to contribute to the enhancement of the contents of the Wikipedia articles by uploading the pre-existing photos uploading from WikiCommons which are related to each of the articles.

KWASU-WPWP Campaign 2023,is also another milestone in the Fan Club's history. It is aimed at reskilling KWASU Wikimedians on how to promote the use of digital media files collected from various Wikimedia photography contests or photowalks in the Wikimedia Community.
