Briefly summarize your project proposal.

  • The "Wiki Loves Earth" campaign is a Wikimedia initiative to highlight and document natural heritage through photography. In Uyo, this involves:

1. Photography Contest: Participants capture and submit photos of Akwa Ibom State's natural landmarks and protected areas.

2. Wikimedia Commons Contributions: Uploading all photos to Wikimedia Commons for free use in Wikimedia projects.

3. Judging and Prizes: Selecting the best photos through a judging panel and awarding prizes.

4. Community Involvement: Fostering community participation in documenting and preserving natural sites.

This campaign enhances the documentation of natural heritage and enriches Wikimedia's media resources.

"Wiki Loves Earth" documents
   natural heritage, fosters 
   community engagement, raises 
   environmental awareness, and 
   enriches Wikimedia's media 
   repository. In Akwa Ibom 
   State, this project will 
   spotlight the region's 
   biodiversity, engage locals in 
   conservation, promote eco- 
   tourism, and enhance global 
   visibility, thereby benefiting 
   the local economy and 
   community pride.
