Thoughts from FDC staff
Thank you for this progress report, colleagues. We are pleased to hear that your event space is being well-utilized by the community. It’s also good to hear about the results of the successful Coding Da Vinci project (with a female participation rate of 30%!), which exceeded your expectations. Congratulations on finishing up the work with the Chapter’s Dialogue; we’re looking forward to learning about next steps. Also, we're keen to hear about the results of the increasingly focused approach to development on the WikiData project (with an impressive 13,000 active editors on the project already).
We’re enjoying following your Free Knowledge advocacy work, especially as you conduct work at the EU level through BXL. WMDE is doing groundwork now to be a more effective advocate and build relationships and expertise. This work both in the EU and at home in DE is exciting to follow!
We noted the 12,052 files that were uploaded to Commons with support from WMDE, and would love to know in future reports if you have any measures of quality or use that you could share.
Finally, the total amount budgeted and the total expenses listed in US dollars do not seem match the total of the expenses listed here in US dollars. Would you please check the totals and make any corrections as necessary?
Due to a miscalculation I had to correct the line:
- Total number of applications processed: 634
- Total number of applications processed: 292
in the "Free content from volunteer projects"-table.
