Feedback from FDC staff[edit]

Hi again, friends, we wanted to provide some thoughts and feedback on your impact report.

  • Great to hear of your community support work in getting access to the archives of Ha'aretz.
  • In the next proposal, we'd love to see how the survey results continue to influence your work, specifically on the finding that "Tools for collaborative writing should be developed and implemented."
  • It is nice to see the results of your work under the Wikipedia editing self-learning courseware, with 800 registered users.
  • We understand that your work in supporting an emerging Arabic speaking community has not yet panned out as you had hoped. We hope to see continued investment in diverse populations and projects. It was good to see the learning behind the success of the women's project! Interesting findings there.
  • Similarly, we appreciate your reflections around the lack of a vibrant Hebrew Wikisource community, despite good partnerships and chapter interest. We'll be interested to see how you address this going forward.
  • Given the Mediawiki community development work was postponed, we're curious to know how this community is developing after the Hackathon, and whether you are succeeding more in supporting this emerging community.
  • Good to see WMIL exceeded last year's results in uploading images on Commons. Good to see you exceed your goal and last year's accomplishment in recruiting volunteers to work with the chapter.
  • Congratulations on exceeding your goal (50%) for the # of active editors 3 months after the Hebrew Wiktionary course. Three months on, 6 editors were still active.
  • The content goals around librarians and archivists did not result as you had hoped, as well as one of the goals in the photography. Your content goals, as we read them, were largely unachieved. It will be important in next year's proposal to note how you plan to move forward given last year's experience in this program area.
  • Congratulations on the achievements in your education program! You not that the # articles written by students grew by 500%, compared to that # the year before. Indeed, you reached a number of students in the gifted program. Your strategic cooperations continue to enable your work. We see your work investing in materials for education programs, and are excited to see that shared more broadly with the movement. We enjoyed reading some of the quotes from Dr. Dvora Harpaz of ORT. :)
  • Partnerships like Israel Antiquities Authority continue to bring results in photography contests and the recent release of the Science Archives. It will be great to see how you partner with them next year in light of that release.
  • Trainings: The courseware seems to be getting good feedback and is being adopted by volunteers in their trainings, too. We're happy to see the section that presents Arabic Wikipedia. Now that many of the materials are developed, it will be important for WMIL to articulate how these resources are used.

Many thanks, again, for this detailed report. KLove (WMF) (talk) 05:53, 29 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
