Feedback from the Culture and Heritage team[edit]

Dear Dominic,

Thank you so much for putting together and providing the comprehensive report. It is an important document for the Wikimedia community, especially for those working with cultural and heritage partnerships and structured data both on Wikimedia and on the open data movements.

Firstly, we would like to check if there is more information about the monthly meetings with members of the Structured Data Across Wikimedia and the Culture and Heritage teams, as well as information about presentations, recordings, and blog posts that DPLA has produced and accomplished during the last year, such as during the 2022 LD4 Conference, Wikimania, DPLA's Wikimedia Working Group, among many other occasions.

We would also like to know more about the fourth goal, which was very important for the long-term vitality of this project, especially through the Wikimania Working Group. We understand documentation and outreach will be particularly essential for the next DPLA project funded by the Sloan Foundation.

About the citations gadget, you said "DPLA plans to complete an initial batch of adding citations to images in the near future", and we believe it would be important to provide a time frame for that not only on the 'What didn’t work" part, but also on the table and on the "Goals" part too. Similarly, we understand that the DepictsAssist is almost finalized, but it would be good to provide a conclusive date for the completion of the feature.

Finally, it is also paramount to highlight how important this project is, especially in order to continue the efforts related to structured data in the movement and the important role it has in the further development of Wikimedia Commons.

Thank you yet again for another successful and awesome year of collaborations!
