Grants talk:PEG/WM ES/Wiki Loves Monuments Spain 2014/Report

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Thanks so much for this detailed report. It is one of the most thorough and high quality reports we have received -- many thanks for all the time and effort put into creating it. Congrats on a very successful WLM competition. We have a few comments/questions below and look forward to your responses:

  1. It's great to see so many volunteers were actively involved in organizing the competition and the addition of two partners!
  2. Why do you think there was such a huge increase in the images from Flickr this year even though the Flickr users decreased?
  3. It's a common challenge getting participants to correctly fill out all the information for each photo -- do you have ideas on how to improve instructions in the future?
  4. Congrats on a very successful first Monuments of Spain challenge: 2,179 articles created/improved in 37 languages is really impressive! Thank you for linking the very informative and detailed report, which I will be sure to share with our Learning and Evaluation team.
  5. You suggested some good ideas for how to do things differently next time. Editing and photography workshops linked to the contest have worked well in other countries, as well as wiki expeditions to areas where there is less coverage of monuments.
  6. Please hold on to the remaining 418.80 EUR while the new grant request is under discussion.
