Response to rapid fund application[edit]

Dear @R.T.Argenton,

Thanks for submitting this grant request. We celebrate your interest in participating in WLE 2023. I have reviewed it and here are some questions about your proposal:

We understand that your proposal plans to make significant contributions to Wikimedia Commons. Could you tell us who is responsible for uploading the photos to Commons, and do you plan to teach participants how to document and upload images?

As you know, images are not easy to upload to Commons on their own, so we want to make sure you include a strategy - perhaps leaning partially on the social media you plan to use, in addition to sharing your knowledge of how to document on Commons in a direct manner - that will allow participants to gain knowledge about Commons to guide them in their future contributions.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Best regards,

Mercedes Caso,
In Brazilian Portuguese, we already created a video with all the steps to understand and upload with the Wikimedia Commons:
This helped a lot for those who are entering Wikimedia Commons, when we are in campaign, we share it with all the other material.
Specific to the photo context, we are creating material to assist newcomers in all the years that are ahead of WLE. Ex: image or videos. And improving after the feedback from the readers.
This year will not be different.
For the after expedition, will be people that contribute to the WLE/Commons and by our experience, winners are photographers used to catalogue and work with metadata. We also will have continuous contact, as the intention is to bring them to Wikimedia Environment.
In both cases, part of volunteer work is creating more accessible uploading routes, as we create a landing page for the contest, a page at Commons to facilitate the upload, we modify the upload wizard, we catalogue and update all the conservation units in a list to the volunteer follow a very straight line to upload the files. We open several vias to people ask questions, emails, social media, wiki pages... We give an extensive orientation to our jury members, first to see the importance of the project, and the Wikimedia Environment, and second, to quickly answer eventual questions about the WLE, as they are our power house in social media, they engage a lot of people, and this people tend to direct the questions to them.
We did not include it in Fluxx proposal, firstly, as we see it as basic for WLE, we believe that we already proved that we can and do that every year, and the bigger reason: we reach the character limitation.
So, what do we do in this case?
We type here more detailed strategy response here... this answer is sufficient... we remove things in Fluxx... let me know.
Thank you
