Funded[edit]

Hello Houss 2020, thanks for submitting this Rapid Fund proposal. We have reviewed the proposal and made a decision to fund it in the amount of TND 14075 (4546 USD). Please see our comments and recommendations below and respond to them on this page:

  • Participant Experience. May you also share how you have improved the experience of Wiki Loves Earth every year to recruit new contributors? It appears that your competition will recruit 20 participants and 30 editors, while last year there were only 30 participants. Have you considered how you will support an increase of participation by 66%?
  • Learning. May you please revise the learning questions so that they are questions that you can reflect on and that inform how you can improve Wiki Loves Earth in the future?
  • Budget. Would it be possible for you to review and revise your budget to add more details to the expenses of the photowalk and the presentations?

Thanks again for your contributions to the movement and good luck with your project. -- FElgueretly-WMF (talk) 16:58, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello FElgueretly-WMF
I hope you are doing fine.
Thank you for your comments and questions. Please accept my apologies for the late reply due to personal commitments.
For the Participant Experience question:
We try every year to improve the participant experience by inviting the participants and encourage them in a competitive concept,in addition to the prizes for the top five winners, we offer the participant with the highest contributions in the competition symbolic incentives like T-shirts for example. Also, the atmosphere during the workshops and photo walks is so friendly and enthusiastic wich make more participants involved. We also tell the participants about the international contest and its importance in the improvement of Wikimedia projects in addition to the valuable prizes offered.
For the second question about Learning:
In this year contest we are planning to collaborate with professional photographers clubs so we can improve the quality of images uploaded during the competition. With this step, the progress, the course and the great atmoshpere shared between the participants during the contest will be spread in social media pages and groups interested in photography so that can be beneficial for future Wikimedia projects.
Finally, we have reviewed and revised the budget and added sufficient details.
Thank you again and we will be glad to answer any additional questions. Houss 2020 (talk) 21:59, 21 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
