Questions from WMF[edit]

Hello Aisiszane and thank you for this grant request. I am sorry to say that I am not really understanding what you are trying to do here. It seems you are trying to teach people to use qEEG and ask them to upload their brain scans to Wikimedia projects. You talk about educating about brain health and initiate more cross talk among communities through the exploration of BCI, but these are goals that I have trouble reconciling with our mission and vision. Wikipedia and the Wikimedia project are a collection of secondary sources and what you are proposing here seems to be a lot of original research and I am not sure how this projhect addresses, to name a few: content gaps, onboarding more wiki readers and editors from Hawaii. It is also not clear to me what kind of events you are exactly looking at organizing and who will participate. In this stae, I cannot approve this grant request and you will need to work on clarifying the project goals and plan before anything can happen. A few sections in your proposal are empty or unclear, such as how you are going to do outreach about your project (you have a list of institution, but how are you going to talk to them?) or the explanation of what you will ahve done at the end of the project. Also, the impact section does not have metrics or targets (what are you going to measure to assess success and how much do you expect to get when measuring).

This project is also meant to happen very quickly and in the present state of this application, I will not be able to approve it in the timeframe that seems to make sense for you. Please review the project's timeframe and clarify your ask following my remarks above for us to be able to support you in this endeavour. Best, Delphine (WMF) (talk) 11:41, 24 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not funded[edit]

Hi Aisiszane. Unfortunately we have not heard from you since questions were posted on May 24th. Since the proposal as it stands is not clearly aligned with our grantmaking guidelines and Wikimedia's mission, we will not be funding the project. Please let us know if you have any questions. Best, Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 20:47, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
