I recall talking to you @Mahveotm: about the need to establish a Wiki Fan Club at Lagos state University and i am happy you are doing so. Before endorsing this grant see my comment below:

  1. You need to mentioned the user names of the two experienced Wikipedians that will be invited from outside Lagos.
  2. If the expected experienced-Wikipedia failed to show up, do you have a plan B?IF Yes, please tell us.
  3. I am also of the opinion that your institution should be able to provide a class room for the event.

  • I'd be inviting Jamie Tubers and HandsomeBoy
  • I've duly notified all expected facilitator long before the event and expect they show up. As an experienced Wikimedian myself, I would be prepared to take any seminar should such happen.
  • I've made consultations with the school authority and unfortunately the available classroom does not fit the scenario we're trying to create (Public address system, projectors, external power supply...). I was also explicitly told that there is no guarantee that the classrooms would be free for the event. I won't want a situation where the event would be postponed due to unavailability of location. The hall has been subsidized by the school management and once the club has been started,future meetings would be held in classrooms.
  • OK, would do just that.

Request for a Budget Increase[edit]

Hello @WJifar (WMF):, I jut got a mail from the Wikimedia Education expressing regrets as why they will not be able to deliver educational materials which I requested for the event. It was suggested that the materials be printed locally and I add the additional expense to the modified budget. Please I would wish to add the additional cost of printing of the materials locally to the budget. This is estimated at $221.61(NGN 80 000) (several copies will be made to account for those who will not be attending the editathon but will be attending future meetings). I also forgot to add the cost of Roll up Banner (pardon my clumsiness, this is my first grant request) which is said to cost $69.25 (NGN 25 000). This will bring the total budget to $1408.84.
