To clarify a few points that were related to me by I JethroBT (WMF):

1) This project does not aim to establish any partnerships with any GLAM institutions. The cycle of workshops is directed at individuals - creative professionals. I would only like to contact a few institutions for the purpose of inviting a diverse group of participants, highly skilled in their professional field (for example, documentary photography, architectural drawing, video, other art disciplines). I have now listed these institutions on the Grant proposal page, in the "How participants will be recruited" section.

2) The same applies to the dissemination stage - final part of the project, after the textbook is reviewed and published to Wikimedia Commons on a CC BY-SA license. Here the aim would naturally be to reach many people from the target audience (to educate and encourage new users/editors, thus helping Wikimedia mission). I have now listed the ways to disseminate the results of our work which seem suited to its purpose, on the Grant main page, in the section "Promotion and dissemination" - please see there for details.

3) To make sure this work does not interfere with any ongoing Wikimedia activities, if the project is approved, and before sending the invitations, I will email Kamila Neuman (WMPL) for comments and suggestions about the recruitment and dissemination - and will follow her advice. Other requests, comments and suggestions are also welcome!

4) To respond to a question about the training manual and whether it may be similar to the existing GLAM brochure: In short, no; the scope of this GLAM brochure and my planned manual is completely different. The GLAM brochure is an invitation directed at museums and libraries and a catalogue of completed and ongoing GLAM partnerships in Poland. What I propose is a practical training textbook, aimed at individuals, explaining in a friendly way the basic Wikipedia skills and principles, and delving a bit deeper into practical Wikimedia Commons skills, with usage instructions, examples, and best practices.

As Polimerek said in the Endorsements section: "In fact as far as I know we still have no any comprehensive tutorial for contemporary artists, who are quite often disappointed after their first attempts to contribute their own works and bios due to problems with understanding our rules regarding copyright, VER and NPOV".

I hope this clarifies matters. Thank you for reading! - --Marta Malina Moraczewska (talk) 17:48, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
