Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Mgonzalezmillan/Wikipedia Project for Offline Education in Medicine (POEM) Phase 2

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hi Mgonzalezmillan. Thank you for this grant request and all your efforts to support this exciting project. We have greatly appreciated the insights from the initial research in the DR and look forward to more learnings from this pilot. We have a few questions/comments on approval:

  1. Our understanding is that the number of photos uploaded/used and articles created/improved if not a key focus of the project and can be removed as a measure of success in the impact section.
  2. In terms of the feedback on the device, it will be very helpful to have feedback on the hardware, software/usability, as well as the content. It would be great if this feedback could be prioritized so that folks working on the device and the content understand where to focus their improvement efforts.
  3. In terms of a business model, we agree that including information on cost, device distribution and maintenance, local partnership requirements, content creation and updates are all very important issues to include. We are very excited to understand the full ecosystem of how to implement offline technologies focused on medical content in rural settings.
  4. What are the plans for the devices after the pilot is over? Will the devices remain with the local partner? Will you continue to engage and get feedback over a longer time period?
