Questions from WMF[edit]

Hi, Geugeor! Thank you for submitting this rapid grant request. We have a few questions before we start reviewing it.

  • Could you please specify the number of t-shirts you would like to print and how they would be distributed? We consider t-shirts a high-value item and prefer that they are given out only selectively, for example, as prizes or to a small group of people.
  • Please note that if this grant is for activities of the Wikimedians of Cameroon UG that the group has several reports overdue. We cannot consider new grant requests until overdue reports are submitted.

We will watch the discussion page for your reply to these points. If you have questions for us, please let us know. We are here to help you with a successful grant application! Best regards, LSmith (WMF) (talk) 18:45, 1 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My answer[edit]

Hi, LSmith (WMF)! I would first like to apologize for this long silence. We try to solve some misunderstandings in our community. With regard to questions:

  • I just went back to the last Wiki Loves Earth contest we had organized: 15 Tee-Shirts for the 15 winners and 7 polos for the organizers and the jury
  • In order to save time, while waiting for the publication of the User Group report, I prefer to change the grant to individual grant.

Thanks --Geugeor Georges (talk) 06:43, 26 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ineligible[edit]

Hello Geugeor thank you for responding to my colleague's questions. Unfortunately, I am marking this grant as ineligible at this time as the Cameroon User Group has three open grants we haven't been able to close. We will be sending you an email to follow up on what we would need you to do in order to be back in compliance. Given that you have to submit expense documentations and one final report before we can move forward and this contest is happening next month we don't think we will be able to move forward with this request at this time. Hope you will be able to participate next year. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 20:17, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello WJifar (WMF) (talk), Thank you for your remarks Please take a look at the answer items I brought. We really want the contest to be held this year once again. Regards, --Geugeor Georges (talk) 11:47, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Geugeor Georges, while I appreciate your enthusiasm for wanting to hold Wiki Loves Africa this year we still have outstanding reports for you. Furthermore, the reason you have given for the delays regarding safety of your participants is one we don't take lightly. So until the political situation allows you to complete the projects at hand we would like to hold off on starting new projects. Hope this makes sense to you. Looking forward to partnering with you on more projects once everything is resolved. Best regards, WJifar (WMF) (talk) 02:53, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
