Hi, Papuass and Voll, thank you for submitting this final report. We have reviewed and accepted it, with a few comments below. Please note that your grant will not be complete until you decide what to do with the underspend (see below the comments for more on that).

  • Congratulations on organizing a successful event with such beautiful photos! What a great idea to develop an interactive map based on Wikidata; we're glad to hear that worked! We're also glad to hear that you feel that you've been able to attract your target audience of advanced enthusiast photographers with the prizes you offer.
  • Why do you think there was low interest in the photo expedition you organized? Would you organize a photo expedition again in the future, or would you try a different strategy to encourage participation? If you were to do a photo expedition in the future what would you change to encourage more participation?
  • Similarly, what would you try in future years to encourage community members to attend the awards ceremony?

In regards to the remaining funds of 134.91 EUR, you have two options: You may either return the funds to WMF, following these instructions, or if you wish to reallocate them to another grant please submit a new rapid grant request no later than 22 February 2019.

Thank you for your engagement with the reporting review process, and with your work throughout the grants process. We appreciate you sharing the outcomes from your project and what you learned with WMF and the community. We also warmly welcome any updates you would like to provide us about your completed project. We thank you for your work for the movement, and offer you our best wishes for your future work.

Hello! Thank you for review and questions, here are my answers:
  • We feel that having a photo-expedition is an important part of the contest, as it helps to cover places where people would not go that often. We will try to have these in future contests. Things to improve:
    • It would help if it was announced sooner so that people can reserve their time. It might even happen before the contest.
    • We should try to explain it better on out information pages. Maybe a fresh look is needed.
  • This time the winners wanted to have awards ceremony in the middle of working day. In the past we had some of these later in the evening. But we are limited by out venue (museum) closing time. More consultation with community is necessary.
  • The contest would certainly benefit from having new members on organizing team.
