Grants talk:Project/Rapid/Wiki Monuments Photo Walk Worthing/UK

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hello Julia, thank you for your proposal for a socially distant Wiki Loves Monuments photowalk and associated training for participants in the UK. Here are my comments and questions on your proposal:

  • Firstly, we wanted to share that there is also an option for funding for small proposals with Wikimedia UK. You may wish to connect with them in case you want to look for other resources you can reach out to.
  • Because our current funding policy prohibits funding of any in-person events due risks with the COVID-19 pandemic, we cannot currently fund group photo walks at this time, even when socially distant. However, activities for individual photo-hunts and individual travel are eligible for funding at this time. If there is any possibility of you updating the proposal to change the group activity to individual photo walks and online training sessions instead of in-person group outings, we may be able to fund this proposal.
  • Additionally, can you invite and include the usernames of experienced contributors as Commons trainers for this project? That would be important for us to assess whether this proposal can be implemented successfully and therefore, factor in eligibility of funding this project. Also, if you have already registered an account with Wikimedia projects, could you provide your username? The username JHorbaschk reported in the proposal has not yet been created.

Thank you once again for taking the time to work on this proposal. Regards RSharma (WMF) (talk) 11:51, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
