Hi, tokori! I hope you are well! I'm a grants coordinator assisting WJifar (WMF), the rapid grants program officer.

Thank you for submitting this rapid grant request. We have received a high volume of requests, which may delay our review. We appreciate your patience and will respond to your request as soon as possible. In the meantime, I have a few questions/comments:

  • You mention that you have extensive experience organizing edit-a-thons, but I noticed there are only 87 edits attached with your username. Could you tell us more about your experience with edit-a-thons and editing?

Yes, I helped lead and organize the first lafayette anticipation art+feminism edit-a-thon in 2015, I then lead the next 2 years A+F events at Parsons Paris . I also served as an A+F ambassadorfrom 2015-2018 in which I was the primary point of contact/support/edu for everyone organizing A+F edit-a-thons in the EU/UK.

  • The Impact section of your application includes a goal regarding articles created or improved, but your application does not mention that you are organizing edit-a-thon as part of the activities. Is that goal related to the larger A+F event, or will you be organizing a separate edit-a-thon? Please clarify in your application.
  • Please edit your application to include only a date in the start date field. Please move the other information currently in that field to the body of your application, wherever you feel it fits.

ok I will update the application with this now. I will be co-hosting the A+F edit-a-thon at Centre culturel suisse Paris, as well as giving an open public talk or performance of my own creative work.

Please check this page for additional comments and questions as we review the application and please feel free to reach out to us with questions; we are here to help with a successful grant application! Best regards, LSmith (WMF) (talk) 22:23, 1 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Grant request declined

Hello, tokori; thank you for your patience with our delayed review process. We took a close look at your application; unfortunately, we are not funding it because it does not comply with the Rapid Grants funding criteria. In grant requests for travel support, we heavily consider contribution records in the form of counts across all Wikimedia projects, as well as in the form of endorsements from equally experienced users. On top of that, travel requests to sites where there are local active user groups are more difficult to justify.

We are sorry to be unable to support your grant request at this time. We hope to support you in future grant requests and activities once you've increased your contributions to the projects. MMontes (WMF) (talk) 00:25, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
