Harassment consultation 2015/Ideas/Twisting is Harassment

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Project idea

Idea by:ManosHacker

What is the problem you're trying to solve?

[edit]

A very common personal attack is twisting words and actions of a fellow contributor. Answering to throwing of mud can only make someone clean, dirty too. People around usually keep silent when attacks come from contributors with prestige. So it keeps going on and on and becomes a tool in hands of holy inquisition groupings.

What is your solution?

[edit]

At least people in user groups, chapters and administrators, who interact in Wikimedia projects, should go through courses for behavior, critique and positive wording, play role games etc. In Greece we teach this in Wikipedia School of Athens as part of the training for Wikipedia contributing. It might be time to have such a School for Wikimedians, too.
