Hardware Officer is an official position within the Wikimedia Foundation to which Domas Mituzas was appointed in June 2005.
The responsibilities of the Hardware Officer include improving contact within and between the system administrators and the Board, and documenting activities that affect the community to ensure people are aware of potential downtime, and notified about the current state of the hardware.
