Ig Wikimedia Community, Ikwerre is a community of Wikimedians who are committed to promoting Wikimedia projects in Nigeria. The group is currently an Arm of the Igbo_Wikimedians_User_Group. The group is open to collaborations with other organizations and Groups to promote Wikimedia awareness in the Ikwerre Community while empowering women's digital literacy. It is an open membership group available to all interested individuals at any level.

Backstory

After joining and participating in the activities of the Igbo_Wikimedians_User_Group 2023 wiki-Indaba that was held in Nigeria, Nwanyanwu Sylvaline realised many women in the Ikwerre community and its environs have little or no knowledge about digital literacy and Wikimedia projects. Through the support of the Igbo_Wikimedians_User_Group she took it upon herself to train women in her community to ensure digital literacy and their empowerment.
