The Wikipedia Igbo training and Edit-a-thon challenge is an online training that will improve the translating and editing skills of literate Igbos in Igbo Wikipedia and inspire participants to participate in a weekly challenge to translate and edit specific articles from English Wikipedia to Igbo.

The Igbo Wikimedians User Group Anambra hub is growing in members; therefore, there is a need to continually train enthusiasts as well as members, increase their editing and translation skills in Igbo Wikipedia.

Project Scope[edit]

Online training There will be two pieces of training over one month starting from 2nd August 2020 to 9th September 2020, focused on teaching people on how to translate and edit Igbo Wikipedia online.
Office hours/Mentorship Call in and mentorship session for participants to call in and ask questions or get help on their issues bothering on editing.
Challenge Organise an edit-a-thon challenge that will reward highest editors weekly with data token and gifts.
