Edit-a-thon

In appreciation of the Wikimedians and/or Wikimedia communities who have shown support to youth in their wiki trying times, we are organizing an edit-a-thon to contribute to free knowledge on topics of our interest or that of the Wikimedians we are appreciating. You will automatically be signed up on the dashboard once you register on this page. We have a communication kit on this page to make this activity exciting and we hope you could join in the show.

Xperience Space

We are having a pre-Wikimania zoom session on 13 August at 14:00 UTC to scale stories of youth challenges, Wikimedians or Wikimedia communities who showed support to them, resilience, and articles edited in appreciation of such people. There are also kudos and gratitude moments during this engagement.

Wikimania Session

Please join our session Youth Struggle, Strength, and Grace: Navigating Challenges in the Wikimedia movement through Collaboration and Support at the Wikimania 2023 conference on 18 August 2023 at 9:30-10:00 UTC. This session features youth speakers sharing their experiences with peculiar challenges, Wikimedians or Wikimedia communities who showed support to them in these times while also highlighting their strength and resilience navigating them. It also includes kudos and gratitude moments as well as audience engagement on the subject.

Wiki Loves Cosplay

This is a photo contest open to all Wikimedia communities, but also to people with no previous experience, to document images relating to the art of Cosplay on Wikimedia commons. Cosplay is an activity in which participants wear accessories and costumes that represent a specific character.

Here is a dedicated upload wizard to upload images from 15 August to 15 September 2023.
