Why participate in this IYD?

The Wikimedia movement constitute of youth who are part of the about 1.8 billion young people making the world a better place in different capacities. As the world celebrate the voices of youth on 12 August 2023, we are inspired to recognize the Wikimedia youth, the Wikimedians and the Wikimedia communities showing care for them.

We want to celebrate the work, strength, resilience and collaboration of Wikimedia youth as well as the international Wikimedia community.

Who is eligible?

Are you a youth organizer, editor, contributor and/or youth group in the movement? The exciting activities designed to recognize the 2023 International Youth Day (IYD) is for you. Join youth in the open movement to connect, interact, network and celebrate resilience in commemoration of IYD 2023.

Are you a Wikimedian and/or Wikimedia community working with and for youth in the movement? Join the Wikimedia youth to commemorate the 2023 International Youth Day in the movement.

How to Participate?

You can participate as:

• An Individual: Youth participants and Wikimedians can engage in the 2023 IYD activities. This is for participants who wish to take part in the global campaign activities or local activities organized in their communities.
• A Youth Group: Formal and/or informal youth groups in different regions in the movement can join the engagements.
• A Wikimedia Community: Wikimedia communities working with and for youth can celebrate with youth for IYD 2023
