Introduction to Igbo Wikiquote II

Introduction to Igbo Wikiquote II was a training for interested participants under the Ig Wiki Librarians Hub. The event was held on 11th March 2022 at The Nigerian Book Foundation, Prof. Kenneth Dike Central e-library, Awka, Anambra State. Participants were thought how to translate English quotes of children authors to Igbo language. They selected names from the redlist in the Wikimedia Incubator to create new pages. The training participants were members of the Association of Nigerian Authors and students from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. This training was a continuation of Introduction to Igbo Wikiquote.

Aim

• The purpose of this training was to introduce Igbo Wikiquote and train members of the Ig Wiki Librarians Hub under the Igbo Wikimedians User Group.

• To also show participants how they can contribute with their smartphones, since they do not have laptops/desktop.

Outcome

19 participants were on ground during the training, 4 were blocked, 2 had no smartphone. These participants were expected to create at least 5 articles each. At the end if the training, 124 articles on Igbo Wikiquotes,were created 136 pages edited and 448 total edits as at 13th March 2022, 04:37am (WAT). See event dashboard for more details
