Backstory[edit]

After participating during the 2020 online pilot cohort of the Wikipedia in African Library course, Goodness Ignatius saw the need to involve more librarians by creating awareness and training librarians in Nigeria. She took a giant step of organising a tutorial session for new editors in Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Awka, Anambra State under the Igbo Wikimedians User Group. The training was aimed at increasing awareness, participation and to improve Nigerian content on Wikipedia, Igbo Wikipedia and other sister project of the Wikimedia Foundation. The training ABC of Editing Wikipedia turned out successful and she is willing to organize more trainings.

Goodness was encouraged by the impact, involvement and feedback of the training and she decided to organize more trainings with the aim of recruiting more Librarians and interested participants in Nigeria for involvement in the Wikimedia Foundation projects. For follow-ups and guidance she created a telegram group. Join the Telegram group
