Iranian Wikimedians User Group/Iranian Wikimedians UG meeting 2024/Scholarship
A number of travel scholarships will be awarded to Wikimedia project users who are interested in attending the 2024 Meeting of the Iranian Wikimedians User Group. These scholarships include airfare, accommodation, registration fees, and meals. A volunteer committee will review applications based on the criteria outlined below and will decide on awarding the scholarships.
Note: Information collected in the registration form will be shared with the scholarship committee and the Wikimedia Foundation. Please do not apply if you are not willing to share your personal information due to personal or safety reasons.
Criteria
[edit]Unfortunately, we are unable to provide scholarships to all applicants; therefore, the committee will make decisions based on the criteria outlined below. Those who score higher will have a better chance of receiving a scholarship.
General Criteria
[edit]- Applicants must be users of at least one of the Wikimedia Foundation projects, including Wikipedia, Wikisource, etc.
- Applicants must be members of the Iranian Wikimedians User Group. (To join, simply add your name here.)
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of the meeting.
Specific Criteria
[edit]The scholarship committee will review applications based on the following questions:
- Has the applicant provided good examples of contributions to Wikimedia projects? These examples can include both online and offline activities.
- Does the applicant have sufficient motivation to attend the meeting, and what perspectives or experiences will they share?
- Can the applicant contribute to the goals of this meeting after the gathering and help promote Wikimedia in their target community, either online or offline?

Committee
[edit]The scholarship committee consists of volunteers who have signed the confidentiality agreement with the Wikimedia Foundation. To avoid conflicts of interest, committee members are not eligible to apply for scholarships.
