Karavali Wikimedians User Group and Besant Women's College, Mangaluru in association with CIS/A2K, Bangaluru, organizing workshop on Wikipedia for the Women participants from Besant Womens's College, Canara College and St. Aloysius College to commemorate International Women's Day.

Objectives[edit]

To introduce new female editors to Wikipedia
To create new articles, how to translate articles from other Wikipedia pages
To know the editing of existing article to improve the quality
To learn the usage of various templates

Deliberations[edit]

A one-day Wikipedia workshop, SheEdits- Women Editing Wikipedia in association with Karavali Wikimedians User Group and CIS/A2K, was conducted at Besant Women's College, to commemmorate Interantional Womens Day on March 06, 2024 at Computer Laboratory. The workshop aimed to familiarize students with the significance and functions of Wikipedia, especially in Karavali language and how active participation can contribute to both personal and academic growth.

Inaugurator of the workshop Smt. Manjula K.T Correspondent, Besant Women's Education Society, extended her best wishes to the students and insisted them to seize the opportunity presented by Wikipedia and utilize it as a platform to shape their future.

The distinguished chief guest, Member of Karavali Wikimedians USer Group, Smt. Vinoda Prasad Rai, highlighted that Wikipedia is not just a platform for information consumption but also a place for active contribution and knowledge sharing. She said that it improves the reading habit of an individual.
