What is happening in Let’s Connect this month[edit]
Welcome to March’s issue of the Let’s Connect monthly newsletter. This Month happens to be Women’s month and we cannot wait to celebrate the amazing work they do in the Wikiverse. Bridging the gender gap on Wikipedia and its sister projects have been a work in progress and we look forward to the numerous activities the Wikimedia communities will come up with.

News from Movement Strategy[edit]
The Wikimedia Foundation Affiliate Strategy process is still ongoing till March 20. Feedback is being invited on proposed requirements for affiliates & user groups recognition.

Let's Connect Wikipedia community Kilimanjaro 1st Meeting
On February 16, 2024, an online meeting centred on the Code of Conduct was convened, with 14 participants in attendance and Abubakar Sixbert presiding. Facilitated by Iddy Ninga, a Tanzanian Wikipedia administrator since 2020, the session highlighted several challenges.
These included low participation among Tanzanian Let's Connect members in online meetings, limited awareness of the Code of Conduct, especially among contributors unfamiliar with English-language Meta pages, and language barriers for external participants, particularly those conversing in Swahili.
Proposed solutions included providing data connectivity support for Let's Connect members, inviting and educating active Wikipedia contributors, assigning translation support for English-speaking participants, and launching an Article Translation Program to translate Meta page articles into Swahili. The aim is to enhance participation, awareness, and inclusivity within the Let's Connect community, addressing the challenges identified during the meeting.

Recover your edits after power and internet cuts or when a browser accidentally closes or crashes.
For editors using the 2010 wikitext editor, you can now recover your edits when your browser accidentally closes, when there is a crash, and when there is a power or network outage during editing. This new feature is known as Edit Recovery. ‘’Enable the Edit Recovery feature’’ in the user Preferences 'Editing' section
