Join us at the Chapel Hill Public Library for two Wikipedia edit-a-thons on October 13 and October 28, 2019.

At each event, we'll create and improve Wikipedia articles about Chapel Hill's history, culture, people, and places. The events are part of the Chapel Hill 1819/2019 project, and are presented by the Chapel Hill Public Library and the University Libraries at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The event is free and open to the public. No special knowledge or Wikipedia editing experience is required. We'll provide a brief workshop on the basics of Wikipedia editing at the start of the event. We'll also have suggested resources and topics on hand.

Background: On November 20, 1819, the General Assembly of North Carolina established government in the Town of Chapel Hill by appointing its first Commissioners. Two hundred years later, in the fall of 2019, we celebrate the agencies, organizations, peoples, and places that have made Chapel Hill the community it is today.
