MCDC membership change

Dear Wikimedians,

I hope this message finds you well. As a process facilitator for the development of the Movement Charter, I would like to inform you that Érica Azzellini (User:EricaAzzellini), an Affiliate-selected member of the Movement Charter Drafting Committee, decided to step down from her membership for personal reasons in January 2024.

The Committee and its supporting team would like to thank Érica for her instrumental role in setting up the committee, preparing the first draft chapters of the Charter, and engaging with the Wikimedia communities around the world to participate in this historical endeavor.

In January 2023, the Committee resolved that there will be no further replacements of its members. Therefore, it will continue its work with 11 (eleven) incumbent members, with input from advisors, who represent a diversity of perspectives and experiences from all major Wikimedia regions, and the WMF Board of Trustees. The Committee is currently finalizing the first version of a full Movement Charter after its on-site working session in Atlanta, and plan to share it to the wider movement by April 2024.

The Committee looks forward to your engagement and participation in these final rounds of Movement Charter development.
