UNIHABITAT UN-Habitat is the United Nations programme working towards a better urban future. Its mission is to promote socially and environmentally sustainable human settlements development and the achievement of adequate shelter for all. UN-Habitat facilitates collaborations between universities in all latin America and other partners, in this case, between universities and Mujeres Latinomericanas en Wikimedia. Mujeres latinoamericanas en Wikimedia will be part of the Equality Network, we will organice conferences, events and editathons in many universities around the region. Within the UN-Habitat Strategic Plan 2014-2019, Gender Equality is identified as a cross-cutting issue. UN-Habitat hosts public and gender event. We will cooperate with UN HABITAT in the area of gender because UN-Habitat is committed to the goal of gender equality development. UN-Habitat uses the World Urban Forum (WUF) as platform to advocate gender issues on a global level. |
